Effekt is a powerful blend of an image editor and a visual tool that generates artwork in ultra high resolution. The artwork is created on the GPU, using compact and incredibly fast programs called fragment shaders.

Packed with an array of features, Effekt may be a one-screen app, but it offers a multitude of visual effects, each equipped with its own custom set of tools. All effects initially have a relatively simple starting point, enabling users to adjust the appearance to their liking, while maintaining smooth performance at an impressive 120fps thanks to Apple's Metal framework. Any changes made are immediately reflected on the screen, allowing for instant feedback and swift iteration.

In addition to the extensive visual effects, the app includes 30+ color schemes and a variety of image editing tools commonly found in photography apps, such as exposure, saturation, brightness, and contrast. However, it also boasts less common tools like stair width, color buckets, and kaleidoscope.

Effekt offers high resolution export capabilities, providing users with a range of formats for both video and still images. These formats encompass the widely used options like 1080p, 4K, and 8K, as well as specific formats tailored to some of Apple's devices, such as the Studio Display, XDR Display, and Apple Watch.

Users can export all effects as both still images and high-resolution animated videos up to 30 seconds long at 120fps. The high-resolution still images are perfect for producing top-quality poster prints with resolutions up to 8000x8000 pixels.

Effekt leverages Apple's latest rendering technologies in the Metal Framework and is meticulously built from scratch using native Swift. No third-party graphics frameworks are used, resulting in an exceptionally lightweight app with a download size just over 4MB. The app primarily relies on code-generated art on the GPU, requiring only a few graphics assets.
